"Raising a young generation into responsible people of the world"
About
the Kind Mothers Project
This
is an association which was initiated by eight Ugandan mothers who felt touched
by the plight of children living under difficult conditions in their country.
They did a survey of children living on the streets in and around the areas of
Bunga, Kabalagala, and Kansanga in Kampala and realized many children were in
dire need of help. They wanted to make a contribution towards improving the
situation of these unfortunate and vulnerable children, and help to improve
their lives. The Kind Mothers Project was started in 2004.
Background
information
The
children in Uganda are living under difficult conditions as a result of
problems that have affected Uganda as a country. This includes civil war,
drought, economic problems, unemployment and poverty. The AIDS scourge has caused death to many people leaving
some children parentless and abandoned, and other families living with chronic
illness.
